Terms and Conditions

Welcome to IamItsekiri, a mobile and web platform connecting the Itsekiri community through news, events, cultural resources, and tools for civic and social engagement.

These Terms and Conditions form a binding agreement between you and IamItsekiri governing access to and use of the mobile application, website, and related services (the Service). By creating an account, downloading the app, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

• A community feed for posts, comments, and cultural discussion.
• Groups and communities members can create, join, and moderate.
• Direct messaging, news, events, and community programs.
• Palace communications, including updates related to the Olu of Warri and royal institution.
• Digital ID community membership credentials.
• A photo and media gallery and cultural and historical resources.
• Citizen reporting tools that may use location.
• Volunteering opportunities and an SME and artisan directory.

We may add, change, suspend, or remove features at any time, with or without notice.

• You must be at least 13 years old.
• Users aged 13 to 17 may only use the Service with a parent or legal guardian's involvement and consent.
• The Service is not directed at children under 13. If we learn that we collected their information, we will delete it and may terminate the account.
• You represent that you meet these requirements and provide accurate registration information.
• We may request proof of age or identity and suspend accounts pending verification.

• Register with accurate, current, and complete information and complete OTP verification where required.
• Each person may maintain only one personal account. Impersonation is prohibited.
• You are responsible for your credentials and all activity under your account.
• Notify support@iamitsekiri.app immediately if you suspect unauthorized account access.
• We may refuse registration, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

You agree to treat members, moderators, Palace representatives, and community leaders respectfully; use your real identity; post lawful and family-appropriate content; comply with applicable laws; and respect the cultural and ceremonial significance of Palace and chieftaincy content.

You must not use the Service unlawfully or fraudulently; interfere with security; scrape user data without consent; use unauthorized bots or scripts; or misrepresent affiliation with the Itsekiri community, Palace, or a chieftaincy title or office.

IamItsekiri has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. We actively enforce a standard of dignity and respect.

• You retain ownership of User Content.
• You grant IamItsekiri a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute it solely to operate, promote, and improve the Service.
• You represent that you have the rights to post it and that it violates no third-party rights.
• We may remove content that violates these Terms without prior notice.

• Group creators and moderators must ensure their groups comply with these Terms.
• Palace content is for informational and cultural purposes. Members must not misrepresent, alter, or falsely attribute Palace or titled-office statements.
• We may remove groups, content, or administrators that fail to enforce Section 6.

• Citizen reports may include optional location and photos.
• When using this feature, you consent to the processing described in our Privacy Policy.
• False, malicious, or defamatory reports are prohibited.

• Digital ID is associated with verified Itsekiri community membership.
• You must provide accurate information; false identity attempts may result in permanent termination.
• Digital ID is a community credential, not government-issued identification.

Members may register interest in volunteering. IamItsekiri does not process payments or accept donations through the Service. Report unauthorized money collection to support@iamitsekiri.app.

The feature lets traders and artisans register business information for potential visibility. It is a registration and lead-generation tool; IamItsekiri does not process payments, host storefronts, act as escrow, verify vendors, or become a party to member transactions. Member transactions and disputes are solely between those members.

The Service's design, logos, trademarks, graphics, and software belong to IamItsekiri or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or reverse-engineer them except as permitted by law. Cultural, historical, and Palace content remains the property of its respective owners or the Itsekiri traditional institution.

Use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains the personal data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

We are not responsible for third-party content, privacy practices, or terms. Your interactions with third parties are solely between you and them.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, security, or error-free operation. User, community, group, and Palace content is not independently verified unless expressly stated.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, IamItsekiri and its officers, employees, and affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages or loss of data, revenue, or goodwill. Total aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid IamItsekiri, if any, in the preceding 12 months.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless IamItsekiri, its officers, employees, and affiliates from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal expenses arising from your use, User Content, violation of these Terms, or violation of third-party rights.

• We may suspend or terminate access, with or without notice, for violations, harm to users, or liability risk.
• You may delete your account in account settings. Posts, connections, messages, and profile data will be erased, subject to legal or Privacy Policy retention.
• Sections 7, 13, 16, 17, 18, and 20 survive termination.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes must first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, they are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of competent courts in Delta State, Nigeria.

We may update these Terms and will notify you of material changes through the Service or other reasonable means before they take effect. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

• Severability: unenforceable provisions do not affect the remainder.
• No Waiver: failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
• Assignment: you may not transfer these Terms without consent; we may assign them without restriction.
• Entire Agreement: these Terms and the Privacy Policy supersede prior agreements about the Service.
